PC tools These are all presented for use at your own Risk I you have Malware/Virus/Spyware. 1. Shut down your computer 2. Boot into Safe Mode, Get there by pressing F8 right as its booting and the Computer Vendor name goes away (Such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer or such) 3. If the Virus does not show up in Safe Mode, Start System Restore and set the Computer back to a time before you got the virus.(to get to System restore, go to the Start button, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools) 4. This will reboot your computer at least once. 5. Hopefully your computer is now clean, but you should run a Malware removal tool to make sure, such as MalwareBytes, which you can download from Cnet.com. Other more advanced tool that may help with Virus removal are: Combofix, from google.com search for combofix but only download from Bleepingcomputer.com Tdsskiller from Kapersky.com If you install Malwarebytes from Cnet, to get the most out of the Free Version, be sure to click Decline when you are asked if you want to start the trial of the free version
If you don’t have antivirus software, you may not need to buy it. If you have Comcast for internet, they offer you Constant Guard which includes Norton Security Suite If you have Charter for Internet, They offer their own, called Charter Security Suite If you have Verizon or a different provider there are some free versions available. 1. Microsoft Security Essentials from Microsoft, Search in Google. 2. From Cnet.com you can download free versions, that you may have to re-download each year: a. AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition b.
